Starting from Dubrovnik, we’ll take a minibus into the beautiful Konavle region, located just half an hour south of Dubrovnik. Beneath craggy cliffs, a valley is bordered by a river and filled with vineyards.
The northern mountain part, which borders to Bosnia and Herzegovina and to Montenegro, is dominated by the mountain massif of Sniježnica. The Sniježnica peak at 1234 meters of altitude is the highest point of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and village of Kuna with its 700 m altitude is the highest village in the county.
There are two possible options of this tour, a full tour that includes app 40km of biking, and a shorter version of about 20km of biking. In the full option we start biking in the village of Radovčići, and enjoy flat parts and small hills while passing through various small villages with mostly traditional stone houses.
From here we will cycle to a Franciscan Monastery in Pridvorje, where we will have a short break to relax and learn about the old cloister, and it’s interesting history. After, we’ll ride to the Ljuta River to see a presentation — reenacted by a local in authentic period clothes — of how people used to grind wheat and corn into flour using the old river mill.
Next place we’ll visit is the beautiful Vinica restaurant located on the Ljuta river where we’ll relax and try a gourmet light lunch accompanied by a selection of local wines. Part two of our Konavle adventure carries us over to Kuna, the highest village in the county, where we’ll again take our bikes and enjoy a 5km long downhill ride soaking in the excellent view of the entire Konvle field, the mountains and the sea.
We can finish at the end of the downhill or bike along the limestone cliffs of Konavle for some spectacular views and maybe refresh ad the local hidden beach.
WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT THIS TOUR
“We (family of four, children 8 and 12) had booked two tours with OC (Wine, Korcula and Ston, Biking in Konavle) over many emails and always had prompt response and good suggestions from Vedran. When we landed in Dubrovnik, the weather forecast showed thunderstorms and rain both days of the tour. Vedran came over to our apartment late on the first day to discuss the tours and we decided to go ahead with the first one. He was concerned for the safety of the children so was ready to cancel but we thought it was worth it to try the Ston tour. It turned out to be a gorgeous day and Vedran was lots of fun with the children and took us to the Ston walls, Korcula (great lunch by the seaside) and wine tasting a winery in Dingac.
The next day it was raining in the morning so we played it by ear and it cleared out by 9:30 so we took off for our biking tour with Maroje and Ana. We had a nice bike ride and saw many nice sights along the way, stopped to see old water mills, great lunch on a platform over the river Lujta and some more biking to finish off the tour.
My son already ranked the bike trip as the best so far in our 8 days of touring and I would highly recommend the company.“

HOW TO PACK
- First and foremost - water. If you don’t already have your own, you can buy cheap bottled water at any market or kiosk and you can reuse the bottle. Croatian water (from the sink) is very clean.
- Sun block, lotion, and protection is only slightly less important than water. The sun here can be very strong, especially in hot summer months. Sunscreen is for more than making sure you have a great tan. It could save your vacation.
- We also suggest a hat, sunglasses (with a leash), and a long-sleeve T-shirt if you are particularly sensitive to the sun.
- A small practical backpack
- Cash is still the best kind of money in Croatia. Markets will take credit cards but many small restaurants will not.
- Athough we are in the European Union, Croatian currency is still Kuna (1EUR= 7,67HRK).
